Derek + Rochella

When I think about Rochella and Derek's amazing Detroit Lakes wedding the word that keeps coming to mind is "beautiful". Of course Rochella was an absolute knockout, but everything from the scenic lake views, to the love and excitement of everyone there, to the touching and hilarious toasts, and to all the details in between, they are best described as beautiful. The day was centered around the natural beauty of Detroit Lakes. Both the wedding and reception were on the water and the weather cooperated perfectly. The bright blue sky and water, against the green grass and white chairs made for an iconic ceremony right out of a movie, and the multi-colored sunset was a stunning backdrop to the reception. One of my favorite things, among many, from this wedding was Rochella's smile - she was glowing all day - and for good reason, she was getting married Derek. As detailed in the impassioned speech of the best man he is "perfect". I couldn't think of a better match! Oh, and at one point, "welcome to our crazy-ass family" was shouted. It was an epic day! Congrats to Rochella and Derek! To purchase the music used in this video please click here

Monisha + Alvaro

Monisha and Alvaro had the most spectacular wedding with beautiful backdrops like the Woods Chapel, the Guthrie, and the Minneapolis Depot - combined with perfect weather, a stunning bride, and friends and family who were ready to celebrate. Everything was perfect and would have made for a wonderful experience on their own, but as you'll see in this film it was so much more. This wedding film is so special to me and even though I've seen the footage a million times it still moves me. There is so much wisdom, love, positivity and hope - being a part of this day, getting to know Monisha and Alvaro as well as their amazing family and freinds, and watching their film is inspiring and makes me want to be a better person. It was a very powerful day. There is so much more I want to say but the images and voices express it better than I ever could. Enjoy the uplifting and magical wedding of Monisha and Alvaro. Congrats, and it was truly an honor to be with you on your wedding day! To purchase the music used in this video please click here

Ann + Brian

Ann and Brian are an amazing couple and they created their wedding day with lots of intention to reflect who they are. Did I mention there were dogs and a ton of fireworks?! We'll get back to that in a moment. They chose to keep things intimate with about 75 guests and a wedding party of 2 at the Enchanted Barn in WI. This was the ideal setting for Brian who being an avid hunter and outdoorsman felt at home in his surroundings and Ann couldn't have looked more beautiful walking through sweeping hills of green grass backdropped by blue skies - she was absolutely stunning and had a contagious smile that lasted all day. Back to the dogs and fireworks. There were 3 of the sweetest golden retrievers who were not only a part of the wedding but having the time of their lives running from one thing to the next - I think they managed to make an appearance in just about every shot. The fireworks were epic and put together by Brian - and with a multi-camera (maybe a little too close but totally worth it) shoot were a blast to capture. Between the pups and fireworks a 10-yearold me was in awe of the whole experience. One final thing that stands out in this special day and really ties all of this beautiful footage together is the toasts. They were personal, funny, touching, and very emotional. Special thanks to Mi Mi Design for orchestrating a flawless day. Best wishes to Ann and Brian and it was truly an honor to be a part of such an awesome wedding day! Matt + Mallary

When I met with Mallary and her amazing mother Tina several months ago I listened with excitement as they detailed their tastes, possible themes, colors, design elements and how they envisioned transforming the St Paul Hotel - which is a beautiful venue to begin with. I commented that what they were describing reminded me of one of my favorite resorts in the world Encore/Wynn in Las Vegas. Mallary lit up, agreed, and said that it is one of Matt's favorite get-aways as well - I would later find out that he is a huge apple fan and long distance runner - so we're basically best friends now. I could sense from the begining they were creating something very special but it wouldn't be until the wedding day when everyone walked into the ballroom with jaws dropped, mine included, that I'd realize the extent of the creative genius of Tina with the help Todd from Bungalow 6 Design. Out of this world amazing! The rest of Mallary and Matt's wedding day couldn't have been more perfect. The 526 Salon, the M Street Cafe and the St Paul Cathedral were beautiful - including the weather for Matt's morning run along the river. In addition to the ornate and whimsical details, hilarious and moving toasts, and the best techno music and dancing I've ever seen, the thing I loved most about the day was just watching Mallay and Matt together. It couldn't be more clear that they are best friends and a perfect match. I am so trilled for you guys and it was an honor to capture your epic wedding day. Liz + Christian

There is so much I want to say about Liz and Christians wedding but I'm going to hold back somewhat because it is so much better seen than described - let's just say there are some very cool connections to the past, emotional moments, and laugh-out-loud dance floor antics. In one of the songs used in the video Taylor Swift sings "Today was a fairytale" and there really is no better description of the day. Liz was absolutely knock-out gorgeous, the weather was perfect, and both St Marks Cathedral and Interlachen were stunning venues. Special thanks to Amy Rubins of Fête Perfection for helping create and coordinate such a spectacular day. Katie, Liz's sister and Matron of Honor (who I was lucky enough to film as she married her husband Mark at the beginning of the summer) quoted Bill and Ted's excellent adventure, toasting "Liz and Christian, be excellent to each other and party on dudes." I couldn't agree more. Congrats! To purchase the music used in this video please click here

Patrick + Scott

Marriage equality is something that I'm passionate about and so I couldn't have been more thrilled when Patrick and Scott asked me to film their wedding day. When thinking about what to write here, maybe a political statement, a witty argument, and so on, I quickly realized that nothing I could say comes close to what is communicated through watching Patrick and Scott get married while surrounded by the love and support of their friends and family. Their day was absolutely stunning and every detail was packed with signifigance and meaning, right down to the wedding cake wrapped in vintage postage stamps in honor of Patricks Grandfather who was an avid collector. The Loring Pasta Bar and The Varsity couldn't have been more beautiful and ran more smoothly thanks to the amazing Todd and his wonderful team. It was truly a day I'll never forget and I was so honored to have captured it. Elizabeth couldn't have put it more eloquently during the ceremony, "When our law lags behind, people continue to live their truth and create their own version of a family, and this is what Patrick and Scott are deciding to do today." In lieu of wedding gifts they asked guests to contact their members of congress in support of repealing the defense of marriage act - and if you could do the same that would be awesome! To purchase the music used in this film please click here

UPDATE: When Scott and Patrick saw their film for the first time they said they wanted the whole world to see it - so it was sent out to friends, tweeted, and posted on Facebook. It then got picked up by some prominent blogs and sites and within the first it was over 8K views in 97 countries! The response has been overwhelming and positive. Often times gay marriage and homosexuality in general can become just an issue, talking point or simple debate, but Patrick and Scott give it a face and it beautifully becomes so much more. Please continue to share this video with friends and family and celebrate the love and commitment of this amazing couple!

Catherine + Jose

Catherine met Jose while studying abroad in Spain - it was the beginning of a 10 year journey, and after many visits, letters and Skype's, it all culminated this summer with a beautiful and extremely touching wedding. One of Catherine's best friends Emily summed up the day best when she described how she has known Catherine for so long and yet saw a new side of her when she saw her with Jose. Catherine and Jose were absolutely beaming when they were in each others presence and their love and excitement could be felt by everyone. From Berean Baptist to the Minnesota History Center and every detail in between, the day and couple couldn't have been more stunning. Special thanks to Joan Nilsen of Ambiente for planning the perfect day for such a special celebration. One final thought, we have a thing or two to learn about dancing from our friends in Spain - even the young ones know how to move. Congrats Catherine and Jose! ¡Felicidades!

Ben + Kathryn

Ben and Kathryn's wedding day couldn't have been more beautiful. From the Assumption Church, to the Minikahda club and all the details in-between everything - not to mention the bride - was picturesque and stunning. One of my favorite moments of the day was the first meeting when Ben and Kathryn saw each other for the first time. As a Doctor, Kathryn is very detail oriented and sometimes a little matter-of-matter-of-fact, and although she had a great time with the girls at the salon in the morning I was anxious to see if more emotion was going to come through. The second she saw her soon-to-be husband it all changed. It was so clear that everything else faded away and their love and excitement for what was happening could be felt and seen the entire day - even during some impromptu couples yoga! I am so happy for guys and it was such an honor to capture your day. Congrats Ben and Kathryn.

Kirsten + John

It was such an honor to capture Kirsten and John's wedding weekend. From the Minneapolis Club to Interlachen, everything was perfect and could't have been more beautiful - especially Kirsten who was stunning. From the rehearsal dinner to the reception a theme that kept coming up was family - even dinner was intentionally served and passed family style. Relationships are very important to Kirsten and John and it showed, the love and connection between everyone could be felt. During his toast, Kirsten's father said "We'll share this wondrous moment that will go by way too quickly but hopefully will last forever." There couldn't be a better description of what I aim for in my wedding films - to capture such a magical moment and give it life into the future. So sit back, relax, and relive the funny, touching, and beautiful wedding weekend of Kirsten and John.

Brian + Lisa

One of the many reason I feel like I have the best job in the world is because I get to work with people like Brian and Lisa. One of the best words to describe their wedding day is "perfectly balanced." That many initially not sound like the most exciting takeaway but here are some examples. Lisa and Brian working with Kathy and her team at Festivities put together the most beautifully appointed lake Minnetonka island wedding at the Minnetonka Yatch Club. With tents, live bands, creative nautical touches everywhere, and much more - including of course the logistical challenges of getting everything and everyone to the island - even with all of this the day couldn't have felt more laid back and gone more smoothly. Every detail was thought of and yet Lisa and Brian were truly in the moment, celebrating with friends and family as they began a new chapter in their lives together. Another great example of balance is that the day was filled with laughter and tears - from some hilarious speeches to the look on Brian's face as he sees his bride for the first time. Everything was perfect. Well, one thing wasn't exactly "perfect" but made the day even more memorable. The outside temperature combined with the humidity put the heat index above 100 degrees - we were perspiring by 8am - but everyone embraced it together and it really did make the day better in a crazy way. There is so much more I want to say about the Nantucket red pants, Andrew wielding the melted ice sculpture above his head, the announcement of the couple, how awesome the High and Mighty band was, the bar made out of a sailboat, the sunset, and so much more, but I'll stop because more than that I want to see their wedding film and relive their spectacular wedding day. Congrats Lisa and Brian!
